During the free estimate, we talk about a current need and goal. Different goals have different strategies! You’ll be offered a management tool that we will use to keep ourselves on the same page as we make progress. We’ll also talk about your timeline and preferred level of teamwork.

This family needed help identifying native plants and weeds in the yard of the house they moved into in the spring. It was also a few years overdue for mulching, so we made a plan to get caught up with maintenance.
A fresh layer of mulch helps the aesthetics of the yard. There’s not a bad time of year to work on this!

Another during photo: We decided to use the river rock on hand to create an easy-to-mow area around this lilac. PWJ continues to maintain the thistle and other weeds and the client continues to improve the grassy lawn.
Before: This area had lots of weeds, some pavers, and a spirea shrub to prune.
During: We cleared many weeds and the client decided to cultivate some perennials around the utility box. We transplanted hostas and will continue to build an appealing space here.
During: More weeds have been removed, spirea pruned and mulch established. The next stage is improving the lawn around this and throughout the yard.
Before: PWJ came on board to identify some of the plants, strategize removing invasive plants, manage the lawn, and keep the space maintained through the season.

Weeding and mulching!
Planting a cherry tree with a bum knee is hard work. Even when the garden center provides the equipment, hire someone to do the tasks that fulfill your dreams!

After: PWJ worked to make a huge difference in preparing this yard for the photos. A realtor can help clarify which areas are the most important, and a plant enthusiast can help bring a yard into its best shape for listing to sell.
Another after photo: The weeping cherry tree got pruned, the perennials done flowering got cut back, and the flower bed edges got cleaned up.

Before: The flower beds used to have many varieties of ornamental lilies, but when one family member passed, the general gardening did too. PWJ came on board to work on things.
After photo: PWJ removed daylilies, some phlox, aster, violets, and more to reveal some space for new perennials. Client chose the prettiest ones at the garden center and PWJ planted and mulched.
Before: PWJ removed trumpet vine, poison ivy, horsetail, daylilies, and some phlox. Also some work was needed to restore the rock drip line and flagstone pathway that shapes this flower beds.
After: Client chose perennials and PWJ planted and mulched in coneflower, daisies, dianthus, tickseed, Russian sage, and many more. Also mulch.
Before: Mobility challenges make it tedious to maintain a garden, but even more necessary to have a wonderful vista. PWJ came in to reduce the tallest wildflowers in order to have more colorful perennials in this bed.
After: PWJ revealed the wegelia, planted lavender, obedient plant, heucheria, butterfly bush, sweet William and more in this area. Mulched, and reset some landscape rocks to help define the mowing areas.
